Medieval Nubian Costumes of Power on the Spotlight in the Louvre Museum
Archéologie du textile: restituer les costumes du pouvoir de la Nubie chrétienne (6e – 14e siècles)
Registration is now open to attend a very special edition of the Midis de l’Archéologie, in the Louvre Museum (Paris, FR), organized by the team of the Polish research project “Costumes of Authority”, based at the University of Warsaw, to take place on the 17th of October.
The project, which explores the composition and style of high-status dress in Medieval Sudan through the study of iconographic material, will bring these costumes to live in a presentation for the general public, accompanied by a unique historical fashion show in which the reconstruction of five ancient costumes will make its world premiere!
