In the second edition of the “EuroWeb Book Corner” we are pleased to welcome EuroWeb member Gabriella Longhitano, who will be presenting her new book “Textile Activity and Cultural Identity in Sicily between the Late Bronze Age and Archaic Period” published by Oxbow (2021) as part of the “Ancient Textiles” Series.
This volume is the first systematic attempt to reconstruct the textile cultures of Sicily during this period, in which this island was a crucial crossroads in Mediterranean networks and an area of intense intercultural exchange. Using textile tools as her primary research source, in this book Gabriella discusses both technological issues and the social significance of textile activities during this time span.
