This book explores the interplay of Textiles and Gender throughout a time span of three thousand years in the Near East and the Mediterranean basin, bringing together textual, iconographic and archaeological sources to paint a new and encompassing picture of the role of textiles, from economy to dress and the expression of social and cultural identities.
